Our uniform drive has expanded in order to meet the needs of the "future adults" we serve. In Fall 2015, we expanded our uniform drive to include working young adults. Are you interested in being a drop-off location for our drive? Please click here to begin the process. We will still collect uniforms for students that attend Washington, DC schools. We are accepting khaki, navy and black pants and skirts. As well as white, blue and red button or polo style shirts.
Our hope is that our quarterly Uniform Drives help to spread awareness around issues of poverty for "future adults" looking to achieve scholastic and professional success. There is an influx of initiatives for "Back 2 School" but our work has shown that our youth and young adults continue to grow throughout the remainder of the year.
This year recipients of these donations would be given the first opportunity to participate in the Work DC! Certification Collaborative. This collaborative partners our "future adults" with small business owners throughout the community. They are given the opportunity to earn hands-on experience and certification in hospitality, cosmetology, barbering, brand management, public relations, automotive repair, fashion management, digital media, journalism, facilities management and child care.
